I’m not a quitter. I have lots of patience and I’m pretty longsuffering! However, I was doing the same things over and over again to build my business and expecting to get different results! That actually is one definition of insanity! Ha!
I can’t tell you how many times I was frustrated, discouraged and ready to quit, but held out, because you’re not suppose to quit. ‘It will get better. You will win’. That’s what they said!
Well, it didn’t get better and I wasn’t winning! I’d been at it for 7 years, had a team of customers, no builders, I was doing most of the work and wasn’t making money. However I didn’t have another company to move to until recently! When I found it, I was torn, but I knew deep down I needed to make a sound business decision and not rely on my emotions.
Since this is so new, I thought I’d share about when you should and when you should not change network marketing companies. It just might help you to make a decision if you are ever faced with a similar situation.

When NOT to leave:
1. The newest Shiny Thing seems better.
Several new networking ideas come along all the time, and maybe your friends are jumping in. But that’s not a reason for you to bail on your company. It may look like the new thing has none of the challenges yours does, and the grass seems greener! But it rarely is!
2.You don’t like your upline.
Not everyone gets an amazing upline! THEY can’t make you successful. YOU still need to put in the work and experience the ups and downs of the journey. A great upline is not a requirement, but it is a bonus!
3.You have no support from your family.
Again, a supportive family helps and is a bonus, but not a requirement. If they don’t support you in one, they probably won’t in another one!
When TO leave:
1. The company is in trouble.
There are many reasons this could happen. The finances could be suffering. When there are lots of backorders, or the distributors aren’t getting paid are two good reasons to leave. There could be technical issues that never get resolved, or customer support is not there. Don’t feel guilty if you need to leave.
2. Moral and Ethical Reasons
If you discover there are moral and ethical issues, leave that company. I was part of a company that crashed because of a moral problem with the owner. Find a company that reflects your own values.
3.Drastic changes in the company.
Maybe the company takes a turn that you did not count on and is going a different direction than you thought it would. If you can’t abide with the decision, you should find another company. Maybe the comp plan changes drastically, to one that is not as favorable. That is a sign of trouble. Time to leave!
4.The team spirit turns toxic.
No one can thrive in negativity. If your team or upline are unsupportive and negative, you need to run from that company! Life is too short to try to grow in those circumstances. Find a company where you are celebrated and embraced for who you are. You will thrive there!
5.Your enthusiasm is gone.
This should be fun, too! If your passion is gone you should ask yourself why. If you’re not super inspired by your company and the products, it’s time to leave. You shouldn’t stay because your upline expects you to. It’s your life and you need to make the decisions that will rule your life. Find a company you can be passionate about!
There you have it, 3 reasons when NOT to leave, and 5 reasons when TO leave.
